HOW TO CHANGE YOUR MIND - (Documentary Series, Netflix)
*This is not medical advice. Please consult a medical professional when deciding on medicinal therapies.
How To Change Your Mind is a fascinating look into the ongoing research on psychedelic therapies, and the results that could change the entire landscape of our human race. Unfortunately, some really poor decisions were made by certain uninformed leaders in our past in the 1960’s and 1970’s, in regards to starting the “war on drugs”, and banning any and all research into psychedelic therapy in universities and medical facilities around the United States. There were also nefarious acts carried out by powerful units of government abusing these substances on unknowing American citizens in ways that are absolutely deplorable (just google MK-Ultra). All of this created a tidal wave of misinformation and scare tactics toward the public….enter pharmaceutical companies to save the day, which helped create the pill-popping society that we currently reside in, and allowed those companies to profit immensely from your politician’s decisions. Cha-Ching!
Okay, I could go off on a tangent here, but I will let the current research on these substances do the talking. The potential to end a vast amount of human suffering, in regards to PTSD, trauma, depression and anxiety, suicide, and addiction, could be on the immediate horizon. And I simply cannot wait to find out more.

SONS OF THE EAST - (Australian Indie Folk)
“Sons of the East are an Australian indie folk trio formed in 2011 by Nic Johnston, Dan Wallage, and Jack Rollins. To date, they have released three EPs and a number of singles. The trio has performed at Festival of the Sun, SXSW, and Boardmasters Festival, among other international festivals.” - Wikipedia
These guys popped up on my Spotify recommendations recently, and I appreciated that algorithmic decision by the robot universe, so I have decided to continue my dive into the Sons Of The East and their jammy, harmonized, sometimes lightly floating folk tunes.
3) ART
JASON DeCAIRES TAYLOR - (British Sculptor)
“Jason deCaires Taylor MRSS (b.1974) is an award winning sculptor, environmentalist and professional underwater photographer. For the past 16 years, Taylor has been creating underwater museums and sculpture parks beneath the waves, submerging over 1,100 living artworks throughout the world’s oceans and seas. Themes explored by these artistic installations include, among others, the climate emergency, environmental activism, and the regenerative attributes of nature. The sculptures create a habitat for marine life whilst illustrating humanity’s fragility and its relationship with the marine world. Taylor’s subjects mainly feature members of the local community, focussing on their connections with their own coastal environments.” - From Jason’s website https://www.underwatersculpture.com/

Writings from Walt Whitman - (Leaves Of Grass)
“Not I, nor anyone else can travel that road for you.
You must travel it by yourself.
It is not far. It is within reach.
Perhaps you have been on it since you were born, and did not know.
Perhaps it is everywhere - on water and land.”

EMMANUEL LUBEZKI - (Mexican Cinematographer)
“Chivo” as many know him as in the film industry, has become one of my favorite cinematographers to experience. You may or may not know him by name, but you have surely seen Emmanuel Lubezki’s work. While he has crafted gorgeous images for the silver screen over the last few decades, he is most notably known for films such as The Revenant, Birdman, Tree of Life, Gravity, Children of Men, and Y tu mama tambien.
“In Depth Cine” (Youtube Channel) has created a deep dive into Lubezki’s beautiful work (This is a must-watch for any filmmakers out there):
